The Carabinieri's offensive against the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics in the Monti Lattari area, which has long been considered one of the main marijuana production areas in Campania, continues unabated.
As part of Operation “Continuum Bellum 3”, the soldiers of the Castellammare di Stabia company, supported by the Calabrian Hunters Helicopter Squadron, have made new seizures and discoveries along the mountain slopes between Stabia, Gragnano and Lettere.
During a raid in a large wooded area in Castellammare di Stabia, the Carabinieri they identified two cannabis indica cultivation areas, with over one hundred plant in an advanced stage of growth, some of which had already exceeded one and a half meters in height. All the plants were uprooted and destroyed on site, as required by the operational protocol.
In Gragnano, in a rugged area hidden among the rocks, the military also recovered a bag containing approximately 700 grams of marijuana already dried and ready for sale, along with a precision scale.
That's not all. Also in the mountain area between Gragnano and Lettere, a semi-automatic rifle with a scratched serial number was found, accompanied by several cartridges, as well as another small cannabis plantation, a sign that the area remains at the center of the routes of illegal production.
The patrol operations will continue in the coming days, with the aim of completely dismantling the illicit crops and interrupting the local drug dealing chain. The Carabinieri, meanwhile, reiterate the importance of the collaboration of citizens, even anonymously, to report suspicious movements in the hilly and mountainous territories.
