Tension at Police Headquarters over Fire Threat
Napoli – There were moments of tension last Wednesday at the Immigration Office of the Naples Police Headquarters, where a 28-year-old Egyptian citizen threatened to set himself on fire after dousing himself with flammable liquid and throwing it on a police car.
The man, clearly in a state of psychophysical alteration, also railed against well-known political figures before being stopped by the officers present, who managed to bring the situation back under control.
During the search, the 28-year-old was found in possession of two bottles containing flammable liquid and a lighter. The intervention of 118 was requested on site, which took care of transporting the man to theSea Hospital for checks and treatments.
Further investigation revealed that the young man was illegally present on Italian soil and had already received an expulsion order issued on June 10 by the prefect of Naples. The order was subsequently validated by the Justice of the Peace, who ordered his escort to the border for repatriation to Egypt.
