Naples, attempted robbery of elderly woman in Corso Secondigliano: arrested

Napoli – An attempted robbery against an elderly woman was foiled today in Corso Secondigliano thanks to the rapid intervention of a patrol from the Secondigliano Operations Unit.

The officers, noticing an individual who had thrown the victim to the ground to snatch her purse and wedding ring, intervened in the act. Despite the resistance put up by the criminal, the police officers managed to immobilize him and arrest him.

The detainee was taken to the General Command, where the IAES offices (Investigative, Environmental, Social Emergencies) took care of drawing up the judicial police documents.

The man was reported for robbery, resistance and injuries. By order of the Public Prosecutor on duty, he was transferred to the county jail of Poggioreale awaiting immediate judgement.

The timely intervention of the police allowed the victim to be protected and the perpetrator to be brought to justice, in an area of ​​the city that is often the scene of criminal episodes.
