Naples, Eleventh Motorcyclist Dead in 2025: He Was 32

Naples - More blood on the streets of Naples. The umpteenth dramatic accident that occurred during the night between Friday and Saturday in via Nuova Toscanella cost the life of Jamil Zayadneh, 32, a Neapolitan of Jordanian origins.

The young motorcyclist lost control of his Honda SH 300 scooter, crashing into the perimeter wall of the roadway. Rescue efforts were in vain: he died at Cardarelli a few hours after being admitted due to a violent head trauma.

With his death, the number of motorcyclists killed since the beginning of 2025 in the urban area of ​​Naples alone rises to eleven. A very heavy toll, which also includes five pedestrians and a cyclist.

 Road death toll to be heavy in 2025

A trail of accidents which in recent days has also extended to the province: in Mugnano, on June 3, three minors were seriously injured in a collision between a scooter and a car; while in Casoria, on the night between June 5 and 6, Raffaele Maddaluno, 34, lost his life in a collision between two scooters. The other driver, 22, is in a reserved prognosis.

The dynamics: a fatal flight on via Nuova Toscanella

According to the reconstruction by the Accident Section of the Municipal Police, coordinated by Commander Vincenzo Cirillo, Jamil was returning home to the Scampia neighborhood, where he lived with his family, after attending a bachelor party. Shortly before 2 a.m., while traveling along Via Nuova Toscanella in the direction of Chiaiano, he lost control of the vehicle.

After an initial fall on the asphalt, the scooter continued its journey, ending up against the edge of the sidewalk and finally violently impacting a low wall. During the tragic flight, Jamil lost his helmet, which would have come off at the moment of the first impact, right at the height of the offices of the ASL Napoli 1.

Family in shock, investigations underway

The 32-year-old leaves behind his parents and three sisters, with whom he had a very close bond. Investigations are continuing to clarify the exact causes of the accident. At the moment, high speed is indicated as a possible contributory factor to the loss of control, but other hypotheses are not excluded. No depressions or potholes were found on the asphalt and eyewitnesses interviewed have ruled out the involvement of other vehicles.

The scooter was seized and the body was transferred for an autopsy, ordered by the Prosecutor's Office to clarify every detail of the death.
