Sa non-hotel accommodation facility in the heart of the Pignasecca, in Naples, for serious violations in urban planning and construction matters. The measure was triggered following a check by the local police, who inspected an apartment in via Montesanto that had been illegally transformed into a bed and breakfast.
According to what emerged from the technical and documentary checks, the property had been divided into two separate units without respecting the current urban planning instruments. One of the two portions was used as a hospitality business without the necessary authorizations for the change of use from residential to tourist.
The officers found further irregularities: the part used to accommodate guests did not meet the minimum requirements for habitability, in particular the absence of a living room or kitchen of at least 14 square meters. The internal layout included only two bedrooms, a bathroom, a hallway and a closet, in violation of health and hygiene regulations and building regulations.
The situation was aggravated by discrepancies between the cadastral plans and the actual state of the property, with unauthorized interventions on the walls and the absence of anti-seismic documentation. In the absence of a valid permit, the structure was placed under preventive seizure.
At the time of the intervention, there were two guests inside the accommodation: access will be prohibited only at the end of their stay. In the meantime, a sign indicating the measure has been posted at the entrance.
