The investigations of the Police led to the arrest of Salvatore Sannino, 19, also with no criminal record and originally from Mugnano like the victim. It emerged that there were previous disagreements between the two, also fueled on social networks, which would have led to the fatal attack that arose from "one look too many".
According to initial reconstructions and what has leaked out from the investigations, the fatal clash began with a verbal provocation. “What are you looking at me for?” Sannino allegedly said to his rival before the argument degenerated into violence.
The investigators, under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, are working to ascertain the deepest reasons for the litigation, which would have their roots in a pre-existing enmity, even of a social nature.
Sannino is currently under arrest at the Castel Volturno police station. Any measures against him will be assessed by the PM in the next few hours.
The mother of the young victim is a well-known tiktoker: her profile “luisaemanueletangocaso12” was flooded with messages of condolence.
The news of Nicola Mirti's death sparked moments of strong tension outside the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli. A group of friends and relatives of the victim poured into the square, and the situation required the intervention of the Fire Brigade. As reported by the association "Nobody Touches Hippocrates“, a person even entered the waiting room with gasoline, triggering panic and making it necessary to block the emergency room's activities.
Alleanza Verdi Sinistra MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli strongly condemned the acts of violence and vandalism. “Committing violence in a hospital is unjustifiable and has nothing to do with the pain of losing a friend or relative,” Borrelli commented.
“I hope that the violent people are immediately identified by the police and held accountable for their actions, including causing the suspension of emergency services.
Unfortunately, we have already seen similar scenes in other hospitals and, punctually, we have found ourselves faced with the devastation of the structures, threats to the staff on duty and fear among patients and families. The death of a boy certainly cannot and must not be 'remembered' by committing other crimes".
The hospital violence further compounds the tragedy that has deeply shaken the community and reignited the debate about safety and anger management in emergency situations.
