Fourth – They would have drugged him with a sleeping pill poured into his coffee and then suffocated him with a pillow. A cold, premeditated crime, matured for an economic motive: the reversibility of his deceased mother's pension that his father refused to give up.
The ones who confessed to the crime were Andrea and Michele Di Gennaro, brothers aged 34 and 42, now arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of aggravated voluntary homicide.
The victim is Antonio Di Gennaro, 72 years old, resident in Quarto, in the Naples area. His body was found hidden in a chest inside his children's home, during a search carried out by the military of the Quarto lieutenancy and the Pozzuoli company.
The man had disappeared on June 3: his current partner had reported his absence, having become suspicious because he was no longer answering the phone. police The two sons had said that their father had gone abroad with another woman. But the version began to falter.
Just before the search of the two brothers' apartment, the suspects broke down and admitted everything: they had acted that same morning of June 3. First the sleeping pill, then the suffocation. Finally, the attempt to concealment of the corpse.
The two arrested have an unsuspected profile: Andrea is a personal trainer, Michele a biomedical engineer. Behind the facade of normality, however, according to investigators, there was a strong resentment for the management of the family money, in particular for the pension that the father had decided to keep for himself.
The investigation continues to reconstruct exactly every step of the family tragedy. The two brothers are now at the disposal of the judicial authorities and will be subjected to preliminary interrogation in the coming days.
