Rome, Neapolitan arrested with 199 Credit Cards and 510 Scratch and Win

Rome – A territorial control operation conducted by the Carabinieri of the Rome Piazza Bologna Station led to the arrest of a 36-year-old originally from Naples, seriously suspected of improper use of payment instruments and receiving stolen goods.

The arrest, which took place yesterday, revealed a real haul of credit cards and tickets "Scratch” of dubious origin, raising questions about a possible round of illicit activities.

The events took place near an ATM, where the Carabinieri noticed the man wandering around with a suspicious attitude. Suspicious of his behavior, the military proceeded to carry out a check: the 36-year-old was caught while withdrawing 150 euros using a prepaid card registered to another person. An act that immediately triggered further investigations.

The subsequent search, extended to both the person and the vehicle in his possession, led to a startling discovery: 199 payment cards, including credit and prepaid cards, 510 “Scratch and Win” tickets, 890 euros in cash and two cell phones.

The man, cornered, was unable to provide convincing explanations about the origin of the material, reinforcing the suspicions of the Carabinieri.

Having gathered significant evidence, the military, in coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office, proceeded to arrest him in flagrante delicto. The 36-year-old was taken to the barracks, where he was held pending the summary trial.

At the end of the validation hearing, the Court of Rome ordered the suspect to be banned from residing in the Municipality of Rome, pending further judicial developments.

The operation conducted by the Carabinieri of Piazza Bologna is part of a broader effort by law enforcement to combat crimes related to the fraudulent use of payment instruments and receiving stolen goods.
