Sala Consilina, 37-year-old under house arrest for robbery at the Post Office in 2024: hunt for accomplices

The 37-year-old from Teggiano accused of participating in the violent robbery committed on April 29 at the Central Post Office in Sala Consilina, in the Salerno area, was arrested and placed under house arrest. The operation, coordinated by the Carabinieri of the local Company and by order of the investigating judge of the Lagonegro Court, continues in search of other possible accomplices, indicated by investigators as "further local insiders", who allegedly played a crucial role in planning the assault.

That day, a commando armed with rifles burst into the Post, disarmed a security guard and took away two wallets containing approximately 90 thousand euros in cash. The loot was however dispersed during the escape, perhaps due to the rapid intervention of the police. The arrested man, according to what has emerged so far, would have provided operational and logistical support to the gang, proving to be an active part of the robbery.

The investigations, still ongoing, are now focused on identifying the other individuals involved, with particular attention to those who offered support and information from within the territory. The man was subjected to the precautionary measure of house arrest, in compliance with the presumption of innocence until a final conviction.
