Violence at the Arechi stadium after the relegation
Anger over relegation has exploded into violence at the Arechi stadium and now the first legal consequences are coming. Four Salernitana fans were arrested by the Digos agents of Salerno following the clashes that took place last Sunday during the return match of the Serie B play-out against Sampdoria.
According to the investigators' reconstruction, the four - aged between 22 and 31 - were identified as the protagonists of the disturbances that transformed the pitch into a battlefield: firecrackers and seats thrown from the stands, up to the physical assault on a steward who was hit on the sidelines.
Scenes that forced the referee to suspend the match with the score at 2-0 for the Blucerchiati and which then resulted in the sports judge's decision to award the victory by default to Sampdoria by 3-0, thus sanctioning the Granata's descent into Serie C. For all four of those arrested, the procedures for issuing the Daspo, which will prevent them from accessing stadiums for a set period.
