Somma Vesuviana, the baby-bosses proclaim themselves on social media with the symbols of the Correale-De Bernardo clan

Share

SVesuvian omma – Kalashnikovs tattooed on the chest, symbolic numbers engraved on the skin and gangster poses. The new faces of organized crime in the Vesuvian area no longer hide: on the contrary, they proudly display their belonging to the Correale-De Bernardo clan directly on their social network, transformed into criminal showcases.

The complaint comes from journalist Gennaro Ciliberto, who has been involved for years in monitoring the Camorra dynamics in the area: “Even with the bosses in prison, the clan's activities continue.

The drug dealing squares are managed under the supervision of the women of the group, while an entire generation of baby criminals advances to take command”. Among them, the faces of Clemente Correale and his right-hand man De Bernardo stand out, protagonists of a new wave of criminal propaganda.

In some images circulated online, the young affiliates are shown bare-chested with tattoos depicting assault rifles and the number 22, the group's identification code. "De Bernardo," Ciliberto says, "boasted of owning a Kalashnikov, even though he didn't even know how it worked. But he saw that weapon as an instrument of power and identity."

An armed peace between baby bosses – According to the reconstructions, the two young leaders, once in conflict, today appear side by side in the photos, in what Ciliberto defines as “an armed peace”. In the past, De Bernardo is said to have even tried to eliminate Correale, shooting him several times. “Today they appear united, but the risk of new feuds is just around the corner”, warns the journalist.

Also raising the alarm is the deputy of the Green-Side Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who underlines the growing role of social media in the phenomenon:
"These are not pranks or criminal folklore. These images are tools of mafia propaganda. Social media have become the new recruitment ground for the Camorra. An immediate reaction is needed: control, removal of content, but also education and prevention. We cannot leave the field open to those who glorify violence."

Borrelli also returns to ask for a law against mafia apology on social media, proposed several times in Parliament: "The majority seems more worried about protesting students and workers than about the clans that recruit teenagers on Instagram and TikTok".

Finally, the alarm: "The real danger is that these kids, although very young, are already fully integrated into the Camorra mechanisms. They don't know any alternatives, they are hungry for power and they mirror themselves in a world that virtually applauds them. If we don't intervene immediately, the Vesuvius area risks becoming a new epicenter of the youth Camorra".
