NNaples – The scorching summer of 2025 is giving Campania no respite. After weeks of high temperatures, the regional Civil Protection Department has issued a new heat wave warning, effective from 12:24 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, until 26:XNUMX a.m. on Saturday, July XNUMX.
According to the forecasts of the Functional Centre of the Region CampaniaTemperature peaks are expected to be 5-6 degrees higher than the seasonal average, accompanied by high humidity, which in coastal areas could exceed 70% in the evening and night hours.
Authorities recommend extreme caution, especially for the most vulnerable segments of the population: the elderly, children, heart patients, and those with chronic conditions. Going out during the middle of the day is discouraged, as is outdoor physical activity and unnecessary car travel. It is essential to maintain cool, well-ventilated environments, drink plenty of water, and take care of pets, which can suffer the effects of high temperatures just as much as humans.
Local authorities have been urged to maintain active surveillance and support measures for the most vulnerable, as required by emergency protocols related to extreme weather events.
This new alert comes amid a summer that is seeing record temperatures across the region, with Naples, Caserta, Salerno, and Benevento among the hardest-hit provinces. Residents are urged to follow updates and guidance from authorities to best weather this new heatwave.
