Ercolano: Investigation into the death of young Father Giovanni Boccarusso

EErcolano – An autopsy and further investigation will determine the cause of death for 27-year-old Giovanni Boccarusso, a man from Ercolano who crashed his scooter into a line of traffic on Corso Italia in Ercolano the other night.

The scooter was being driven by a 26-year-old friend, whose responsibilities will be determined by the Torre Annunziata prosecutor's office, who is in charge of the investigation, after receiving the Carabinieri's full report. The young man suffered minor injuries, while "Gianni" Boccarusso died on arrival at the hospital from the serious injuries sustained in the crash.

THEaccident, likely due to high speed, is just the latest of many that have occurred on the streets of Naples and its province in recent times. The death of Giovanni Boccarusso has shocked the city. The young man was married and the father of two young children.

Even the outgoing mayor, Ciro Buonajuto, expressed his opinion on the tragedy: "This is a time for grief, not controversy. I stand with the community and the family of this young father who tragically lost his life. Law enforcement is working to reconstruct the events."

It's sad to hear of another death at such a young age, but we hope the investigation will clarify what happened. Speed is a risk factor in many accidents, and more road enforcement is needed to prevent similar tragedies.
