Drugs seized for the Arienzo prison
Caserta – This time too, the expedient did not help to avoid the seizure of the drugs to be brought into the prison.
No one was involved and there was no chance of any inmates being held there. It happened in the prison in Arienzo, in the province of Caserta. More precisely, in the prison parking lot.
Someone had thought it a good idea to hide the drugs in the equipment room located outside the facility, in the parking area: access to that area is reserved only for working inmates who, presumably, were waiting for the right moment to bring the drugs into the detention area.
But thanks to the nose of the drug-sniffing dog Tyson, plans to smuggle the drug into prison were foiled. The Penitentiary Police at Arienzo Prison, along with personnel from the Benevento canine unit, seized approximately 100 grams of hashish and 10 grams of cocaine.
"Congratulations to the prison police at Arienzo," commented USPP President Giuseppe Moretti and Regional Secretary Ciro Auricchio, who stated, "the constant discovery of drugs and cell phones in prisons demonstrates that the prison police are a professional and highly specialized force.
Tyson, moreover, it has become a nightmare for drug dealers. In Campania, despite the staff shortage, which stands at around 500, it is now only with great sacrifice that internal order and security are maintained.
