Arzano – Controversy erupts over the allocation of public funds for the celebrations of Santa Giustina.

The administration led by Mayor Aruta, together with Councilor Guida, has decided to allocate an additional €22.000 for the event, in addition to the €30.000 already earmarked in the municipal budget and the €20.000 provided by the Campania Region, bringing the total to €72.000.

The opposition council deemed the amount "excessive and difficult to justify" given the municipality's pre-bankruptcy financial situation. Opposition group leader Luigi De Rosa, speaking on behalf of the entire minority, strongly opposed the decision, calling it "reckless and irresponsible."

While recognizing the value of traditions and patronal feast For the community, the councilors emphasize that allocating such a significant sum to a single event seems disproportionate, especially considering the numerous unmet needs of the area.

"Those funds should have been invested in essential services, maintenance, social support, or in restoring the municipal budget," De Rosa declared, criticizing a management of public resources deemed distant from the real needs of citizens.

The opposition announced its intention to closely monitor the administrative decisions, calling for a change of direction that puts the common good and the community's urgent needs at the center.
