Runway resurfacing at Capodichino without disruption to passengers
The runway at Naples Capodichino airport must be redone, but without blocking air traffic and without turning the summer into a nightmare for thousands of passengers. It is with this urgency that this afternoon, at the Roman headquarters of ENAC, a strategic summit convened by the National Civil Aviation Authority is being held.
The meeting is attended by all the actors involved in the operation of the Neapolitan airport: the president of Enac Pierluigi Di Palma, the general manager Alexander D'Orsogna, the top of Gesac Roberto Barbieri, representatives of the airlines and companies that work at the airport. Objective: to find solutions to optimize the timing of the works, minimize the days of closure and, above all, protect the rights of travelers. At stake is the complete reconstruction of the runway and taxiways, a necessary but impactful intervention.
"Protecting passengers and limiting the days of closure to a minimum is the priority," said Di Palma, who is counting on interinstitutional coordination to reconcile safety needs with those of mobility. The renovation project will be revised with new operational proposals that could guarantee faster and less invasive interventions.
