Man arrested for extorting his 66-year-old mother
CAserta – He abused and threatened his mother to extort her pension money. A 34-year-old man was arrested by the State Police on charges of extortion and domestic violence.
The officers of the Police Station intervened Maddaloni, alerted by a call to 113 reporting an ongoing assault on a 66-year-old woman.
When the patrol arrived, the woman was found in the street, visibly shaken and with obvious signs of beatings. According to the investigation, the victim had been forced for years to hand over a large portion of her pension to her son, enduring threats, psychological pressure, and physical violence. A spiral of abuse that had reduced her to living in conditions of profound degradation and constant fear.
The woman was entrusted to the care of medical staff, while her son was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities pending the validation hearing.
A new case shines a spotlight on domestic violence, an often overlooked phenomenon that can strike even within the most intimate relationships, such as that between mother and child.
