He set fire to the door of the apartment where his ex-partner lives, on the fourth floor of a building in Via Ferrara. An act that could have turned into a tragedy if fate had not wanted the woman, at that moment, to be out of the house. Carabinieri of Casoria, who rushed to the scene after a call to 112, found the flames still alive on the doorstep, but managed to contain the fire before it could spread.

According to the investigations, the fire was caused by the hand of a 42-year-old from the place, already the protagonist of an escalation of violence and threats, which until then had never ended in a formal complaint. The woman had repeatedly suffered aggression, insults, daily intimidation, always minimized or "forgiven" after the man's ritual apologies.

At the beginning of the year, the same ex had attacked her in her safest refuge, her home: first he had punched the door, then he had poured acid on the intercoms. The reason? A missed message, an ignored call. From that moment on, a real path of persecution, between kicked car headlights, obsessive phone calls, insults, death threats via text message.

This time, however, the situation worsened. The flames, the screams of the neighbors, the acrid smell in the air forced everyone to act. The woman told everything to the military, and her words were confirmed by the images of the surveillance cameras installed on the street. Framed and arrested, the man is now in prison on charges of persecution e incendio doloso.
