The Carabinieri of the Sapri Company executed a custodial order against the 23-year-old Albanian who was injured during the assault.
The man, transported first to the hospital in Vallo della Lucania and then to the Cardarelli in Naples, will have to answer for the crimes of theft, improper robbery and possession of a common firearm.
The investigations revealed a more complex dynamic than initially assumed. In the hectic phases of the attempted robbery, the owner of the house, 60-year-old Aurelio valiante, fired two shots from a rifle.
Initially, it was thought that only the 23-year-old had been injured and that the other two robbers had fled. However, it emerged that another criminal had also been shot dead.
The turning point came when the 60-year-old owner of the villa showed up at the Carabinieri, accompanied by his lawyer, confessing to having fired not one, but two rifle shots, one of which killed a fleeing thief.
In a panic, the man declared that he had transported the body to a distant place, then loaded it into his car during the night and buried it in the locality of San Severino di Centola. The body of the 26-year-old Albanian was found at the indicated location and transported to the morgue. The 60-year-old is now being investigated for murder.
During the investigations following the incident, the Carabinieri of the Sapri Company and the Scientific Investigations Section of Salerno ascertained that the robbers also fired gunshots, probably from a loaded pistol that had been stolen inside the same house, where it was kept in a safe opened by the thieves.
The investigation also focused on finding the deceased criminal, after a woman went to the Carabinieri in Sapri reporting a phone call she had received the previous evening in which she had been told that her husband was injured and hospitalized in Vallo della Lucania.
Once in the hospital, however, she discovered that the person hospitalized was her husband's cousin. The next day, the woman returned to the Carabinieri reporting that a relative had confided in her, after learning it from the wounded robber, that her husband had also participated in the robbery and had died from a gunshot.
After identifying the cell connected to the missing 26-year-old's phone, the search intensified until the confession of the owner of the villa, which allowed the body to be found. The story continues to be at the center of investigations to clarify every detail of the tragic night.
