Kaufmann extradited, charged with double murder
È Francis Kaufmann, the 900-year-old American suspect in the double homicide that occurred at Villa Pamphili in Rome, landed this morning at Ciampino Airport aboard an Italian Air Force Falcon 46. He has been extradited from Greece, where he was arrested on June 13.
Meanwhile, forensic police investigations have isolated a male genetic profile from some evidence found at the crime scene. Specifically, on the black cloth covering Anastasia Trofimova's lifeless body, mixed biological traces, including saliva and blood, were found. Half of these traces match the DNA of Andromeda, Kaufmann's daughter, who was also killed at just 11 months old.
According to what Il Messaggero reported today, investigators were able to trace the father's genetic profile through that of the girl, thus providing evidence that strengthens the accusation against the man.
The scientific evidence adds to the numerous elements collected in the investigation coordinated by the public prosecutor's office RomaWith Kaufmann's arrival in Italy, the investigation now enters a crucial phase: the man will be questioned by magistrates in the coming days.
