Explosion in Torre del Greco, suicide hypothesis emerges

C'the suicide lead is among the investigative hypotheses most followed by the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office which is investigating the explosion, collapse and death of a 64-year-old man which occurred today in Torre del Greco.

The victim's name was Diego Olimpiade. The man allegedly voluntarily caused theesplosione which caused a wing of the building to collapse on Largo Benimino in the historic centre of the coral city.

According to what has emerged from the inspections carried out by the fire brigade experts together with the police, a gas cylinder with an open vent was found and seized at the site of the explosion.

Deputy Prosecutor Marianna Ricci and Prosecutor Nunzio Fragliasso have seized the gas cylinder, the collapse area, the building where the explosion occurred and the victim's body, on which an autopsy will be performed. A disabled woman was slightly injured in the explosion.
