COsenza – A group of seven young scouts from Naples experienced a worrisome time in Pollino National Park after losing their bearings yesterday during a hike in Piano Novacco, in the municipality of Saracena.
The rescue operation, conducted by the Cosenza Provincial Fire Brigade, concluded with the safe recovery of the boys, fortunately in good condition.
The alarm was raised when the group contacted the rescue services after getting lost on the mountain paths. The recovery operations concluded around 16:00 PM, with the aid of a winch, given that the helicopter was unable to land in the inaccessible area.
The seven young people were airlifted to a safe area in the valley. None of them were injured. The operation was carried out in full synergy between ground teams and air support, confirming the operational efficiency and timely response of the National Fire Brigade in mountain emergencies.
