Scooter accident in Mugnano: 15-year-old Emanuele Palma dies

Share

MUgnano – Emanuele Palma, the 15-year-old from Calvizzano who was seriously injured in a car accident in Mugnano, died last night. The young man, involved in a dramatic crash on Thursday, July 10, at 19:27 PM on Corso Italia, near the Villa dei Fiori clinic, died last night after two days of agony in the hospital.

The news shocked the communities of Mugnano and Calvizzano, united in mourning the loss of the boy.

The accident and doubts about the dynamics

Emanuele, who was riding a scooter, apparently lost control of the vehicle, crashing violently onto the asphalt. The cause of the accident remains unclear. According to initial reports, it was thought to have skidded, but his family members are doubtful: "The injuries and severe trauma to his body do not appear consistent with a simple fall," they stated.

It is suspected that the young man may have been hit by a car or even run over after the crash, perhaps without the driver realizing it or running away without stopping and providing assistance, perhaps because he had something to hide.

The boy may have been hit by a hit-and-run driver

The Mugnano municipal police are investigating, analyzing every detail to clarify the circumstances. They are searching for all footage from surveillance cameras in the area and are also looking for witnesses who may have seen something.

Emanuele's family is launching a heartfelt appeal: "Anyone who saw anything that evening, around 19:27 PM, on Corso Italia, should contact law enforcement, even anonymously. We need answers."

The family's appeal for truth

The community, still in shock, is rallying around the family, as anticipation grows for the outcome of the investigation. Emanuele's death has left a deep void in Mugnano and Calvizzano. The area of the accident, a busy stretch of road near the clinic, is notoriously dangerous. The tragedy has reignited the debate on road safety and the need for increased enforcement to prevent similar tragedies.
