MProcida Island – Another dramatic case of domestic violence. Carabinieri from the local station responded to a home in the Phlegraean municipality where a 52-year-old man had just brutally attacked his 75-year-old mother.
It wasn't the first time for her: according to the military's reconstruction, it was yet another episode of physical and psychological abuse that had been going on for some time.
The Carabinieri's intervention was not easy: the man was subdued after a brief struggle and then arrested. The victim, in a state of shock and with visible injuries, was transported to the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli, where he received initial treatment.
The military began an investigation, gathering testimony and documenting a pattern of repeated domestic violence. The man was transferred to the Poggioreale prison in Naples, where he remains awaiting trial.
