Motorbike set on fire after family argument in Naples
Napoli – A 46-year-old Neapolitan was arrested last night by the State Police in Piazza Mercato on charges of arson, personal injury and resisting a public official.
The incident occurred following a family argument that had dramatic consequences. The officers of the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, alerted by the Operations Room, promptly intervened in Piazza Mercato, where a motorcycle on fire had been reported.
When they arrived on the scene, the police found the Fire fighters working to put out the fire, which had already involved, in addition to the motorcycle, two other vehicles and a car parked nearby.
During the operations, the 46-year-old approached the officers, confessing to having set fire to his brother's motorcycle for trivial reasons, arising from an altercation. The man, in a state of agitation, then cursed his brother, who was present at the scene, giving rise to a fight with the officers who had to stop him with force. The person responsible was arrested and will now have to answer to serious charges.
The episode, which caused material damage and put the safety of the area at risk, highlights how even family disagreements can lead to extreme actions, aggravated by the already tense urban context.
