Tragedy in Naples: Three workers lose their lives.
NNaples – Three days after the workplace massacre that rocked the Rione Alto neighborhood of Naples, the Prosecutor's Office has issued four notices of investigation as part of its investigation into responsibility for the deaths of three workers who died last Friday at a construction site.
The tragic accident, which occurred while workers were engaged in underground operations, has brought renewed attention to the issue of accidental deaths at work, a silent plague that continues to plague Italy.
The victims, all aged between 30 and 50, were killed in circumstances that are still unclear, but which, according to initial investigative hypotheses, could be linked to deficiencies in security measures.
The notices of investigation, a necessary step to allow the suspects to appoint independent experts, were issued against four individuals: entrepreneurs Vincenzo Pietroluongo and Carlo Napolitano, as well as Luca Luciani and Gianluca Di Franco, all believed to be involved in some way in the management of the construction site or the ongoing work.
Tomorrow afternoon, at 14.30 pm, the coroner appointed by the Public Prosecutor's Office – with the public prosecutor Stella Castaldo and the deputy prosecutor Antonio Ricci – will be given the task of carrying out the autopsy on the bodies of the three victimsThe autopsy will have to clarify the precise cause of death and help reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
The tragedy has sparked deep shock in the city and a harsh reaction from the unions, which have long denounced the inadequacy of inspections at construction sites and the lack of a true workplace safety culture. "You can't die for work," declared a CGIL representative. "We demand justice, but also a radical change in prevention policies."
Meanwhile, investigations are continuing to determine whether there was negligence, omissions, or violations of safety regulations. Another tragedy that leaves behind pain, anger, and the unbearable burden of three lives shattered in the workplace.
