Naples: Unions Revolt Against “Wild” Contracts in Logistics and Security Services

Napoli – An open protest against irregularities in the management of contracts. The USB and SGB unions took to the field yesterday to denounce what they call “serious violations” in logistics, cleaning and private security contracts.

Among the main charges: failure to comply with safety regulations, opaque company management and suspicious subcontracting.

The Securpol case: private security under accusation

At the center of the controversy is the company Securpol, responsible for private security services. The unions point the finger at three critical issues:

Safety Ignored – The company allegedly evaded regulations on worker protection.
“Temporary” but anomalous subcontract – Securpol, despite having fired 25 employees without contract renewal, obtained a subcontract to cover the staff shortage. An operation defined as “senseless”, given that the new contractor will take 60-90 days to obtain the necessary qualifications, while the subcontract lasts only three months (officially justified by the summer holidays).

The unions' request: urgent meeting with those responsible

USB and SGB have already requested a round table discussion with the Sole Procedure Managers (RUP) and the Contracting Authority Managers (DEC) to request:

Official clarifications on procurement management.
Immediate interventions to guarantee safety and rights for workers.

"This is not just about contracts, but about dignity," the unions emphasize. The ball is now in the institutions' court: will they remain silent or will they intervene?
