Naples: “A thought for Fiorella Fabiola”, the eighth edition of the conference on depression 

Napoli– The eighth edition of “A thought for Fiorella Fabiola” will be held on Tuesday 8 July 2025, at 16:XNUMX pm, at the Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies – Palazzo Serra di Cassano.

The conference, conceived and directed by journalist and presenter Magda Mancuso, aims to raise public awareness about depression, promoting correct and effective information through dialogue between specialists and communicators.

The initiative, supported by professionals in the health sector, aims to combat indifference and urge society to actively involve people affected by depression, who often tend towards isolation, to the point of rejecting life itself.

This year, the event will focus on young people, in response to the worrying spread of violence that sadly sees them as protagonists. This choice comes from the personal and painful story of "inadequacy" of Fiorella Fabiola, twin sister of Magda Mancuso, who at only 38 years old took her own life due to a serious form of depression.

His loss has left a deep void and a sense of helplessness, the same experienced by relatives of individuals of all ages who fall into the tunnel of depression and need active, continuous and qualified support for a timely recovery.

This edition of the conference enjoys the moral patronage of the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples, and is organized in collaboration with “FLAI-Fare Libera Arte Insieme”, an association chaired by Gennaro Quirito with Maria Aprile as vice-president.

The event will be moderated by professional journalist and sociologist Giuseppe Giorgio. The conference will be introduced by greetings from the Honorable Gianfranco Di Sarno, personal secretary of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Edmondo Cirielli, and from the Councilor of the Campania Region Vittoria Lettieri.

Speakers who will discuss depressive disorders include: Dr. Piero Prevete, psychiatrist and head of the Antistalking Service Napoli 1 Centro; Dr. Manuela Morra, psychologist, psychotherapist and sexologist; Dr. Simona Toto, psychologist and EMDR psychotherapist; Prof. Rosalia Ciorciaro, university professor, nutritionist and food hydrologist; and Tanya Sidorenkova, Yoga teacher.

A touching moment of this edition will be the dedication to the Memory of Ermanno Corsi, esteemed Rai journalist and former president of the Order of Journalists of Campania. Corsi has been a faithful supporter of the conference, moderating the first two editions, and his absence will be particularly felt.
