Toxic fire in Giugliano, black sky and unbreathable air for kilometers

Giugliano – A massive fire broke out this afternoon in the border area between Giugliano and Qualiano, transforming the area into an inferno of flames and toxic smoke.

The flames engulfed huge piles of illegal waste stacked between the Roma camp and the ASI industrial area, triggering an environmental emergency of vast proportions.

A thick column of black smoke, visible from several municipalities in the metropolitan area, created a toxic blanket that extended for kilometers.

I immediately intervened on site firefighters, supported by the Municipal Police, engaged in a race against time to contain the flames and secure the area.

Huge quantities of waste of all kinds on fire with the sky darkened by toxic smoke and the air unbreathable in the entire northern area of ​​Naples. Added to this is the torrid temperatures (40°C) today that are making the situation worse.
