Salerno: Electric charging is now available under the "Sotto Casa" banner thanks to a local startup.

SAlerno – Everyone's talking about electric cars, but the crucial question for millions of drivers remains the same: where can they be recharged?

A SalernoA local startup is trying to provide a concrete answer, aiming to bring charging stations directly into condominium parking lots and working-class neighborhoods, filling an infrastructure gap that is holding back the ecological transition.

The initiative is by PowerUp, a Salerno-based company specializing in installing charging stations in private spaces such as condominium parking lots, businesses, and hospitality facilities. Their proposal is simple: bring electric vehicle charging "on your doorstep," precisely where a widespread network is lacking.

Overcoming the barriers to urban charging

"Many people would like to switch to an electric car, but they hold back because they don't know where to charge them, especially if they live in a city or apartment building," explains PowerUp. "Our goal is to provide a concrete, accessible, and bureaucratic-free solution."

The project is gaining traction, particularly in less central neighborhoods, where the lack of charging infrastructure often translates into a real energy gap. PowerUp has launched an awareness campaign to inform families about how to benefit from government incentives and offers installation solutions with zero initial cost, with installment plans of up to 60 months. This makes the transition to electric more accessible even for those without large initial capital.

Benefits for businesses and citizens

The initiative isn't limited to private individuals. Small businesses, such as hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, and private parking lots, can also benefit by installing charging stations. This not only improves customer service, but also makes them more competitive in a rapidly growing electric mobility market.

The first installations are already operational in Salerno and the surrounding province, and the stated goal is to create a widespread network of charging points. This transition, though quiet, promises to be crucial for the future of mobility in Campania.

Do you think this initiative can really accelerate the adoption of electric cars, especially in densely populated urban areas?
