House arrest for selling an illegal weapon
SMother Vesuviana, handed over a gun with a scratched serial number: under house arrest with an electronic bracelet
TORRE ANNUNZIATA – A Somma Vesuviana resident has been placed under house arrest, with an electronic bracelet attached, for allegedly supplying an illegal firearm to a person already arrested last November. The precautionary measure was executed by the Torre Annunziata Financial Police Group, by order of the investigating judge of the Oplonti Court, and at the request of the local Public Prosecutor's Office.
The man is under investigation for illegal possession of firearm, receiving stolen goods and possession and sale of an unlicensed weapon, in violation of Articles 23 of Law 110/1975 and Articles 648 and 697 of the Criminal Code.
The investigation began in November 2024, when a "Beschi Verde" patrol stopped a man in Boscoreale in possession of an unbranded .22 caliber pistol, a "Beretta" model, with the serial number erased, a magazine inserted, and a ready-to-fire cartridge. The man was immediately arrested.
Subsequently, thanks to a series of searches and forensic analysis of the seized electronic devices, investigators were able to identify the alleged supplier of the weapon with a high degree of probability. Specifically, chats, photos, and screenshots emerged that appear to document the sale of the gun by the man now under precautionary measures.
The order was issued in consideration of the seriousness of the crimes charged and the real risk of repetition, elements deemed by the judge to be fundamental in justifying the restrictive measure.
