Telemedicine for social inclusion: Salerno Local Health Authority launches a new series of meetings.

This is the key message that emerges from the series of meetings started by the UOC Governance of Telemedicine and Artificial Intelligence Processes at the Salerno Local Health Authority, under the direction of Dr. Antonio CoppolaThe meetings, held at the Nocera Inferiore operational headquarters, aim to explore the potential of this technology to reach the most vulnerable segments of the population.

"Telemedicine is not just a technological advance, but a true tool for social equity," said Dr. Coppola. "It is in the most vulnerable contexts, where fragility often translates into isolation or difficulty accessing services, that technology can make a difference, offering people closeness, continuity of care, and dignity."

A calendar full of comparisons and perspectives

The first meeting was held last Wednesday and saw the participation of the representatives of the RSAs and the Day Centres of theASL Salerno, a discussion defined as “rich and constructive” which gave rise to a broader planning.

The calendar of upcoming events includes:

• Monday July 14: Meeting dedicated to Dialysis Centers.
• Monday July 21: Meeting with the Anti-violence Centers and Shelters for Women Victims of Abuse.

Further events will follow in the coming months, with the goal of leaving no one behind. "With technology, we can reach those starting out in disadvantaged circumstances and build a more inclusive, accessible, and humane healthcare system," Coppola emphasized.

Innovation and proximity: the vision of the Salerno Local Health Authority

The initiative stems from a clear vision of the Salerno Local Health Authority (ASL), which established the new UOC specifically to integrate innovation and proximity. The goal is to ensure that every citizen, regardless of their condition, can access quality healthcare services.

"Networking, creating a system, and actively collaborating between services and local communities is the only way to implement truly effective care models. Only in this way will we be able to offer services that are increasingly focused on quality and equity," concluded Director Coppola.

The Telemedicine Unit of the Salerno Local Health Authority is committed to continuing to promote listening, training, and support initiatives, with the aim of making technology a real tool for inclusion and protection, rather than a further factor of inequality.
