Boscoreale, phone orders: Nightlife pushers busted

This morning, the Carabinieri of the Boscoreale station executed a precautionary custody order against two people, following the order issued by the preliminary investigations judge of the Torre Annunziata Court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The two are currently under investigation and are seriously suspected of possession with intent to sell and distribute narcotics. The alleged crimes were allegedly committed between June and July 2024 in the areas of Boscoreale, Pompeii, Massa Lubrense, and Sorrento.

The investigation started from a cell phone

The investigation began with the examination of a forensic copy of a smartphone seized in August 2024 during an arrest for illegal cocaine possession.

Analysis of the device allowed the Carabinieri to initially identify numerous alleged drug purchasers and, through subsequent investigative activities coordinated by the Torre Annunziata Prosecutor's Office, to reconstruct the alleged role of the two suspects in managing the drug dealing activity.

Cryptic messages and drug photographs

According to investigators, the analysis of cell phone conversations was crucial. The Carabinieri examined the language used in the messages, deemed cryptic but related to drug dealing, as well as the speed with which meetings were arranged between sellers and customers.

Photographs of narcotics already divided into doses and packaged for sale were also allegedly found on the phone. These elements, combined with witness statements from some buyers and photographic identifications by them, allowed the prosecution to gather serious evidence against the recipients of the precautionary measure.

The transfer to Poggioreale

Once the formalities have been completed, the two arrested men will be transferred to the "Giuseppe Salvia" prison in Naples-Poggioreale, where they will remain at the disposal of the judicial authorities.

As required by law, the proceedings are currently in the preliminary investigation phase. The precautionary measure may be appealed before the Court of Review, and the suspects must be considered innocent until a final conviction is issued, in accordance with the constitutional principle of the presumption of innocence.
