Procida: 37-year-old arrested for violence and threats against parents

Procida – He allegedly subjected his parents to constant threats and assaults for over a year and a half, forcing them to leave their home. For this reason, a 37-year-old resident of Procida was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Ischia branch, following a precautionary detention order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Naples.

The man is seriously suspected of domestic abuse. The investigation, conducted by the military from the Procida station and coordinated by the Naples Prosecutor's Office – Section IV, specializing in the protection of vulnerable groups – has uncovered a long series of abusive behaviors against the cohabiting parents, which lasted from October 2024 to July 2026.

The victims' statements, both in filing the complaint and during the preliminary investigation, were crucial to the investigation. According to what emerged, the 37-year-old repeatedly threatened and assaulted his mother and father, even ordering them to leave the family home.

The most serious incident occurred on July 13th, when the man allegedly destroyed a sofa in the home and attempted to set it on fire. This escalation of violence, combined with continued intimidation, forced the parents to seek refuge elsewhere.

Following the formal procedures, the 37-year-old was transferred to the Naples Poggioreale prison, where he remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
