America's Cup in Bagnoli: Foti emphasizes the importance of investment and the tourism revival

Bagnoli – The 38th America's Cup represents an opportunity to revitalize the Bagnoli area, closed since 1993 following the cessation of steel production, thanks to the organization of the 38th America's Cup. Minister for European Affairs, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), and Cohesion Policies, Tommaso Foti, inspected the construction sites for the sporting event, accompanied by Mayor and Government Commissioner Gaetano Manfredi and the Prefect of Naples, Michele Di Bari.

During the visit, Foti emphasized how the Meloni government has invested €1,218 billion in the area's redevelopment, calling the project a "beautiful calling card" for Italy. "Sporting events pass, but the works remain," the minister stated, noting that the America's Cup will be a moment of great visibility not only for the race itself but also for the future tourism and cultural development of the area.

Foti also emphasized the lasting value of the projects, which will benefit not only the Neapolitan population but also visitors, transforming Bagnoli into a new and impressive tourist attraction. The event, which will premiere in September with the pre-regatta, is the result of a joint effort between the institutions, led by Minister Abodi, Prime Minister Meloni, and Commissioner Manfredi.

The goal is to provide the city of Naples and the country with a significant structural and cultural legacy, capable of revitalizing a strategic economic and social area.
