Carabinieri, forestry police, and the Benevento local health authority discovered land converted into a landfill and a poultry farm that did not comply with regulations, resulting in reports and fines.


Illegal landfill and illegal poultry farm seized in Apice
In Apice, in the province of Benevento, law enforcement officers, along with local health authority staff, seized agricultural land used as an illegal landfill and an illegal poultry farm.
During the inspections, approximately 10 cubic meters of waste, including demolition materials and ferrous metals, were found abandoned over a 2100-square-meter area. Seventy-five birds were found in one shed without the required identification systems and not registered in accordance with current regulations. Additionally, seven dogs without identification microchips were found in another facility.
The four owners of the land were charged with illegal waste management and fined a total of €5.100. The authorities seized the entire area and the animals involved, initiating the required legal proceedings.
