The City of Naples is launching an awareness-raising plan to prevent the abandonment of dogs and cats, protect feline colonies, and promote respectful and responsible coexistence.

Naples launches a campaign against animal abandonment and violence.
The City of Naples has launched a new awareness campaign to combat pet abandonment, with particular attention to dogs and cats.
The initiative aims to draw citizens' attention to the importance of respecting animals and the need to adopt responsible behavior, especially during the summer, when abandonment tends to increase.
At the same time, the campaign aims to combat violence and intolerance toward animals, emphasizing that harmonious coexistence is a collective commitment. Particular emphasis is placed on protecting cat colonies, which enjoy specific regulatory protection.
The communication plan also promotes informed adoptions, with follow-up checks to ensure the welfare of adopted animals. Francesca Rusciano, the Municipality's Animal Welfare Guarantor, emphasized that respect for animals is not just a matter of sensitivity, but a shared moral responsibility, urging people to seek help before abandoning or removing an animal and to not ignore situations of violence.
