Police have intensified checks in the Spanish Quarter: 241 people identified and 51 vehicles inspected.
Naples – Carabinieri officers from the Naples Central Company deployed extraordinary patrols overnight in the Spanish Quarter and the university area to intensify patrols. The operations targeted several nightlife areas and sensitive areas, with checks on people, vehicles, and businesses.
During their operations, officers reported a 49-year-old man already under house arrest. The man was caught outside his home, thus violating the provisions of the judicial authorities.
Following a search, he was found in possession of 67 pairs of glasses and 26 perfumes, which were found to be counterfeit. He also had a multipurpose knife on him. He was charged with tax evasion and receiving stolen goods.
At the same time, the Carabinieri carried out checks on compliance with the Highway Code. Another 49-year-old was reported for driving without a license.
A 29-year-old man, however, will have to answer for possession of objects capable of causing offence: stopped while riding a motorbike, he was found with a switchblade.
