Over 100 customers in Pozzuoli were scammed: trips paid for but never booked by a fake travel agency.

An alleged travel agency in Arco Felice, Pozzuoli, is at the center of a class-action lawsuit filed by over a hundred residents who complain they paid thousands of euros for trips and stays that were never organized. The victims, including families and even a 16-year-old boy dreaming of studying dance in New York, paid in advance, sometimes in cash, without receiving any service.

MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who attended the scene, collected testimonies and reports already forwarded to law enforcement, and called the incident "a huge scam targeting people already affected by bradyseism and the difficulties of the Phlegraean Fields." According to what emerged, the trips were never booked, and the total losses amount to hundreds of thousands of euros.

Borrelli demanded that the alleged perpetrator return the entire amount and answer to the courts, emphasizing that the stolen funds could have been used for basic needs in an area already affected by social and housing emergencies.

Cesare Foà, president of ADV Unite and AIDIT Campania, also commented on the matter, highlighting how the company in question does not comply with industry regulations, lacking the insurance policy and guarantee fund required for registered travel agencies. Foà also urged citizens to be wary of offers that are too low compared to the market and to always verify the authenticity of the guarantees provided by agencies.

The community of Pozzuoli now awaits swift judicial intervention to shed light on this matter and protect those who have been harmed.
