Riccardo Maria Monti, a Neapolitan manager, is the new president of the Viareggio Carnival Foundation.

Viareggio has chosen a prominent international figure to lead the Carnival, aiming to relaunch the event with new opportunities for growth and internationalization.

The mayor of Viareggio, Sara Grilli, has officially appointed Riccardo Maria Monti as the new president of the Viareggio Carnival Foundation. This decision marks the beginning of a new phase for the renowned event, aiming to strengthen its prestige and open up new opportunities for cultural and economic development.

Neapolitan by birth, Monti boasts an internationally renowned resume and over thirty years of experience in senior positions at Italian companies and institutions committed to internationalization and the promotion of the Italian system. He currently leads Triboo, a leading listed digital services company, is a member of the Executive Committee of Nexta Capital Partners Group, and is president of Nexta Renewable Fund.

He has also held prestigious positions such as president of ICE, vice president of Simest, and head of Italferr and Grandi Stazioni, collaborating with organizations and companies in over fifty countries. Monti is also involved in academic activities at Mercatorum University and Luiss Guido Carli University, as well as holding key roles in the Italy-China Foundation and the Joint Italian-Arab Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Grilli emphasized that the Viareggio Carnival represents one of the most recognizable symbols of the city and Italy worldwide, and that Monti, thanks to his expertise and international connections, will be instrumental in strengthening the event's global positioning, attracting investment, and promoting collaborations.

The new president expressed gratitude for the trust he has received, recognizing the Carnival as a unique artistic and cultural heritage that should be further enhanced, with a keen eye on tradition and the creativity of the master float designers.
