Clearer and more appropriate signage can help reduce road accidents along the province of Naples's main roads. This was the call from Prefect Michele di Bari at the end of the meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety, convened today in Sant'Antonio Abate.
"Improved signage can help prevent road accidents along the province of Naples's roads, and for this reason I have urged the road owners to take this action, also taking into account the recommendations from the National Agency for the Safety of Railways and Road and Motorway Infrastructure," the prefect explained.
During the meeting, the main critical issues related to road safety and possible measures to reduce accidents were examined. "We are called upon to provide answers. And the Observatory has provided recommendations for the adoption of appropriate measures," added di Bari.
According to the prefect, the causes of accidents are attributable to multiple factors, which therefore require simultaneous interventions. "Accidents occur due to the failure to meet subjective requirements and then due to the condition of the roads," he emphasized.
Hence the need for a strategy that goes beyond inspections, but also involves road network interventions. "This is why we need concurrent measures," the prefect concluded.
