Safe Ferragosto in the province of Caserta: 900 checks and 2 arrests

On the night of August 15th, the Carabinieri of Caserta intensified checks throughout the province, resulting in 900 people and 444 vehicles checked, two arrests, and numerous reports for various crimes.

During the night of August 15th, the Caserta Provincial Command of the Carabinieri deployed an extraordinary security operation to monitor nightlife and the province's main roads. The preventive and repressive operations involved 217 military personnel and 105 patrols, focusing on locations such as Caserta, Aversa, Maddaloni, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, and the coastal towns of Baia Domizia, Mondragone, and Castel Volturno.

A total of 900 people and 444 vehicles were checked, with over 60 traffic violations reported, resulting in fines exceeding €33. Among the measures taken were the withdrawal of driving licences, the impoundment of vehicles, and the imposition of administrative detentions.

Among the most significant operations, in Baia Domizia, a 23-year-old man was arrested following a violent attack on two security guards and the Carabinieri who intervened to break up a fight. In Mondragone, five people were reported at large after a brawl on the seafront. In Castel Volturno, two separate operations led to the seizure of marijuana and cocaine, with two charges filed for suspected possession with intent to sell.

Even in the province's main urban areas, the Carabinieri's efforts focused on preventing predatory crimes, combating drug dealing, and monitoring road safety. This constant and widespread effort aimed not only to repress illegal behavior but also to prevent risky situations for residents and tourists.

The overall response demonstrates a Ferragosto holiday marked by significant law enforcement efforts to ensure public order and safety on a night of heavy traffic. Those arrested or charged are currently under preliminary investigation, with responsibility pending judicial review.
