Terzigno, overnight ambush: two young men injured by gunshots

Terzigno – A night of intense violence in the Vesuvius area. Two young men, a 19-year-old and a 22-year-old, were targeted by hitmen after being shot several times in circumstances still being investigated by investigators.

The alarm was raised around 2:00 a.m., when the two victims, accompanied by acquaintances in a car, showed up at the entrance to the Santa Lucia clinic. Alerted by paramedics, patrol cars from the local police station arrived on the scene within minutes to gather initial testimonies.

Both boys, already known to law enforcement records, are currently hospitalized but, fortunately, neither of them is in danger of dying.

The victims' stories and hospitalizations

According to the version given to police by the two injured men, the attack occurred suddenly while they were on Via Isonzo in Terzigno. A commando opened fire at chest height before disappearing into the darkness.

The bullets hit the 22-year-old in the arm—who was later transferred to Nola hospital for treatment—and the 19-year-old in the right leg, who is now hospitalized at the Ospedale del Mare in Ponticelli.

The investigations and the investigative lead

The investigation into the case was entrusted to officers from the San Giuseppe Vesuviano Police Station, who immediately began surveys and carried out an inspection of Via Isonzo to identify and acquire images from any public and private video surveillance cameras.

The main lead: Although no hypothesis has been ruled out, the lead most likely supported by investigators points directly to youth crime. The attack could be part of a violent feud between rival youth gangs in the Vesuvian municipalities, vying for dominance and control of drug dealing hubs in local nightlife and entertainment venues.
