Torre del Greco: Traffic police officers attacked with helmets; 41-year-old arrested

Torre del Greco – Two municipal police officers were attacked with their helmets while checking a scooter. The incident occurred on Via Circumvallazione, where the officers noticed a motorcycle parked on the sidewalk and without insurance.

After confirming the irregularity, the officers initiated seizure procedures. Just then, the vehicle's owner's son, a 41-year-old man, arrived on the scene. Without any mediation, the man lunged at the two officers, hitting them repeatedly with his helmet.

Only the intervention of other municipal police officers and a patrol car from the police station allowed the attacker to be subdued and the rampage to end. The two injured officers were taken to the hospital for treatment, while the 41-year-old was placed under house arrest.
