Carabinieri officers from the Mobile Radio Unit responded yesterday afternoon, August 18, in Curti, arresting two men caught stealing materials from a construction site. The alleged crime is residential burglary, and the suspect was charged with theft.
The alert was raised by the Operations Center, which sent the Carabinieri to Via Terragrande.
Waiting for them was the owner of a property under construction, who had reported the presence of two individuals intent on leaving after having removed some copper pipes from the construction site.
The military immediately began searching for the two individuals, managing to catch up with them and arrest them shortly thereafter. They are two men, approximately 33 and 31 years old, both homeless.
After completing the required formalities at the barracks, the arrested men were taken by order of the judicial authorities to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison, where they remain at the disposal of the judicial authority pending the validation hearing.
It should be noted that the criminal proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase and that those arrested are presumed innocent until a final conviction is issued.
