Nicolás González has returned to Continassa and has already started training with the team: a video of the Argentine in an intense training session has appeared on Juventus' social media channels, a sign that the player is available to join the squad but certainly not destined to stay. The 1998-born player has a contract with the Bianconeri until June 30, 2029, but his stated intention is to try again at Atlético Madrid after his 2025-26 loan (he finished the season with several appearances and five goals according to competition reports).

Negotiations between the clubs are stalled: Atlético reportedly intend to bring Nico back to Madrid, but, having failed to trigger the €32 million buyout obligation due to the player's failure to meet the required conditions, they are now offering an offer of around €20-22 million (according to reports), possibly with bonuses. For now, there are no official agreements; the game hinges entirely on the price and the details of any bonuses that could bridge the gap.
