The Salerno Municipal Police Security Operations Unit, together with the Local Health Authority (ASL), responded to a home with 15 people in precarious health and safety conditions.

Salerno: A serious case of overcrowding has been discovered in the historic center, prompting warnings and eviction.
The Salerno Municipal Police's Security Operations Unit (NOS) continues its checks to ensure the safety and legality of city buildings. During an inspection of the historic center, conducted with the support of personnel from the Traffic Unit and the Local Health Authority (ASL), a serious case of overcrowding was discovered.
Inside a single residence, 15 people were found legally present in Italy, despite the facility being equipped to accommodate 24 beds. Inspections revealed numerous health, safety, and hygiene deficiencies, including substandard electrical systems, the presence of LPG cylinders inside the premises, blocked escape routes, and general conditions incompatible with minimum habitability requirements.
The ASL declared the building unsuitable for residential use, while the NOS forwarded the documents to the competent authorities, proposing the adoption of urgent measures, including the evacuation of the building and the appropriate administrative and criminal assessments against those responsible.
The NOS has already served the owner with a formal notice demanding they restore safe conditions and ordered the occupants to vacate the property immediately, reserving the right to take further action if they fail to comply.
