The Prefect of Naples: "An exemplary success for the America's Cup."

Naples – «I must thank all the men and women in uniform and the volunteers who created the conditions for this great effort, this great international challenge to succeed in such an exemplary manner, without any failures».

This was stated by the Prefect of Naples, Michele Di Bari, commenting on the second preliminary regatta of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup, hosted in the Gulf of Naples from September 24 to 27. The event represented an important testbed for the 2027 edition of the international sailing competition.

The comparison with committees and citizens

On the sidelines of the celebrations for the Four Days of Naples, at the Mausoleum on Via Posillipo, Di Bari emphasized the value of the dialogue initiated in the previous months by the Prefecture with the committees and the population.
"When there is ongoing dialogue, in which everyone's views are represented," the prefect explained, "it means that the importance of the challenge and of an international event can become a shared heritage."

The event involved law enforcement, local police, volunteers, and various institutional bodies, with dedicated units ensuring safety, traffic flow, and control of the areas affected by the regattas and the Race Village.

Debriefing coming soon

According to Di Bari, an evaluation meeting will be held in the next few days with Mayor Gaetano Manfredi and other stakeholders involved in the organization.

"We'll be having a debriefing soon—I was just talking about it with the mayor—to see if there's anything we can improve on, as always happens," the prefect declared.

"At the moment I haven't noticed any discrepancies," he added, "but it's appropriate to do so, because everyone can share their experience at the table and understand whether the conditions exist for this system to be further improved."

The audit will therefore serve to examine the functioning of the organizational plan and to identify any corrective measures in view of the 38th America's Cup, which will be held in Naples in 2027.
