Naples: Fire on Via Nuova delle Brecce extinguished, 8 families evacuated.

Naples – A violent explosion followed by a large-scale fire shook the Poggioreale neighborhood yesterday evening. Shortly after 9:00 PM, a sudden boom shook the industrial area around Via Nuova delle Brecce, where a blaze engulfed the warehouses of the "Gambardella Trasporti" company at number 40, quickly spreading to the adjacent building of another business.

The thick column of smoke and flashes of flames, clearly visible even from the city's hillside neighborhoods, sparked moments of genuine panic. In the outdoor areas of the business, used as a parking lot for heavy vehicles, several drivers and employees hastily attempted to rescue vans and trucks before they were reached by the fire, fueled by tires and other highly flammable materials stored in the warehouse.

The 112 emergency call triggered the immediate intervention of the Carabinieri, who arrived on the scene to support the firefighters already engaged in the complex firefighting and safety operations. For safety reasons, the authorities ordered the precautionary evacuation of eight families living near Area 13.

Fortunately, no injuries or poisoning were reported. Cleanup and containment operations continued throughout the night, while technical investigations are underway to determine the origin of the explosion and the cause of the fire.
