Salerno: 20-year-old woman stabbed in the historic center released from hospital; Flying Squad investigates

The 20-year-old woman stabbed yesterday evening in Salerno has been released from the hospital. The young Italian woman, resident in a municipality in the province, was transported to the San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d'Aragona hospital in critical condition after suffering multiple injuries.

According to what the victim herself told investigators, she was attacked from behind by an unknown man. The incident occurred near Largo San Tommaso d'Aquino, in the upper part of the city's historic center.

After receiving treatment at the hospital, the twenty-year-old was able to return home. The circumstances surrounding the attack, and especially the identity of the person who allegedly wielded the knife, remain unclear.

Officers from the Salerno Police Headquarters' Mobile Squad are working on the case, reconstructing the events and gathering useful evidence through surveys in the area where the injury occurred. The investigation will now establish what happened before the attack and whether there is any evidence that could lead to the perpetrator.
